Mina Lobata (Spanish flag)

3 09 2007

I grew this from seed and it is an incredibly beautiful vine, blooming mid-summer to fall. The common name is “Spanish flag” or “Firecracker vine.”

That photo is great! I hear that they are actually tender perennials that, if wintered over in the house can be a real eye-catching monster by June. I started my too late this year and they are only 13 cm (5 in.) I will bring them inside this winter and see if I can salvage them.

Spot on with this write-up, I actually think this amazing site needs a great deal more attention.
I’ll probably be back again to read more, thanks for the info!
