I will be the gladdest thing

I will be the gladdest thing
Under the sun!
I will touch a hundred flowers
And not pick one.

— Edna St. Vincent Millay, “Afternoon on a Hill”

I ventured out to Green Spring Gardens this morning at about 9:30. Even at that time, it was already getting too hot to stay out long, so I shot less than 50 images total (and that’s quite low for me). There were some really beautiful flowers in bloom this morning, particularly the thistle flowers, which were humming with bees.

Cindy,

I always find your images absolutely gorgeous. Sometimes I have to remind myself not to comment TOO often or I will fill up the ‘Recent Comments’ list in your sidebar, lol.

It’s always a pleasure to visit. BTW — loved that little ‘clever’ clip you directed us to in your last post. It’s amazing how creative and talented some people are.

I am too trying not to comment too often for the same reason 🙂 You are creating some of the most wonderful flower photos I have ever seen. Everything so clear, with beautiful light and interesting angles. Wow!

Your macros are inspiring. I especially like that first one—like sunshine in a cup.
