This is an Osteospermum, also called African Daisy, Cape Daisy or Spoon Daisy (because of the spoon-shaped ray florets). I believe this might be the cultivar ‘William.’

That is not a flower—it’s a spaceship filled with funny looking humanoids, and it’s hovering above Richard Dreyfuss in Stephen Spielberg’s 1977 movie, “Close Encounters of the Third Kind.” My first reaction to this posting was to move at the fastest possible speed, either to the right or to the left, just in case they decided to land the ship. Then I realized that it was nothing more than a photograph of a flower blossom—no single superlative could adequately describe the bloom or the photograph. I won’t even try!
