Beauty. To me this flower says, Let there be peace on Earth.
A beautiful photo—I searched for some of Georgia Okeffee’s symbolism in the bloom, but my imagination failed me on this one. I found nothing but passionate color—oops—passionate color? I guess I did find a bit of Okeffee’s symbolism after all.
I agree with Mary Ellen—those pert petals plead for permanent peace, something we may never completely reach in this life, but we should continue striving for it. Oh, did I mention that I really love love alliteration?
It’s curious. I’m not usually a fan of Irises, but you make these look beautiful.
