Normally, I would say the bright hot spot would take away from such a photo but the eyes with the beautiful reflections tear you away and into the soul of the cat.

I thought the exact same thing…but then decided it was a keeper anyway. Jasper often sits half in, half out of a direct afternoon sunbeam and to entice him to move to more technically pleasing flat lighting would break the moment that I saw…so this is truly a case of “shoot it as is.” Thanks for your comment!
