Portrait from the past: Teresa

5 01 2011

I met Teresa in an art class in college. She modeled for me many times and despite no professional modeling experience, she was a great subject to photograph! I was studying old Hollywood glamour photos and was aiming to replicate that look during this session.

If your aim was to replicate the old Hollywood glamour shots, you hit the bullseye dead center. Your model and your photo rival the stills from black-and-white movies such as Casablanca (Ingrid Bergman) and Gilda (Rita Hayworth)—just as beautiful and just as enigmatic, and to say the least, just as fetching. Now there’s a word rarely found in modern literature—not implying, of course, that my writing qualifies as literature.

Excelente, mi hija!

I would love to know how you lit this shot and what settings and equipment you used if you get a chance. I have wanted to replicate the dreamy/diffused look of old Hollywood portraits and never known how. Perfect shot =)
