The lacecap is one of my favorite flowers. A friend and I discovered high bush cranberry growing beside a country lane and it has similar flower. I have two of them planted in on my back property. Now we hope to rescue a few more from its shady site in the fall. The flower is white. The blue lacecap is stunning.

Should you plant a lacecap in full sun or does it require shade?

Hi Ann, the lacecaps in the photo were taken in variable lighting—some are growing under the canopy of a large woodland forest path and right up to the sides of a gazebo, which is sometimes in full sun; some do get sunlight for a good part of the day. I would say that it would probably do better with some shade protection.
