I photographed this species in Kansas last month. Someone from the Kansas Native Plant Society identified it for me. Of the five wildflowers I photographed up there that day, this was unfortunately the only one that turned out to be native.
You’re really getting around! Have you retired officially?
Yes, and so has Eve as of last fall. That’s when we drove 6000 miles through the Southwest and California. This year we’ve already spent a month in New Zealand, where we drove 4600 miles. In a couple of weeks we’ll probably head for Mt. Rushmore. I hope you’re doing your share of getting around.
