My beautiful gray boy Lobo in the morning sunlight—I was coming out of the bedroom and looked down to see him there. (This is why I love my iPhone camera—it allows me to capture shots like this anytime, anywhere…a no-fuss, speedy, unlimited creative tool.) iPhone 8Plus in portrait mode, Snapseed2 app border

I have a decorative rabbit weather vane on the top of the tv armoire, but we moved it last summer to start repair on the ceiling that had a leak. This is when Queso started running up to the armoire and playing gargoyle. I moved the piece to a side buffet and captured this image of him peeping through it while he was basking in the sun yesterday.

This is my sister Debbie’s older cat, Meeko. This is her perch in the kitchen (and has been for 12 years). This past fall, Debbie and Bill got new countertops in the kitchen and the installer suggested they replace this little pass-through shelf with the granite. After installation, Meeko jumped up as usual and then went flying into space—it wasn’t the wood she normally sat on. The cold granite surface completely freaked her out. She’s been back to sitting on it after months and today was the first time Bill said he had seen her do this gargoyle pose on the new surface. (Apparently you can teach an old cat new tricks!) See her polydactyl feet?
